Stories were always a big part of Nicole’s life. Her mother read to her every night until she began devouring books on her own, proudly owning her own library card long before her friends. In high school, Nicole started writing poetry and was featured twice in her school’s literary magazine. Then, in her junior English class, her teacher and her mother worked to develop her prose skills. The next year, during a painfully-simple-but-required computer basics class, she wrote her first manuscript, titled Shadows.
She works as a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planner for a bank, where her love for worst-case scenarios and Excel spreadsheets can be put to good use. In 2014, she married her best friend, Michael, who is also a writer.
Nicole spends her time doing so many things, she has a spreadsheet to keep track of all her activities (seriously). Her interests include writing, reading fiction and her Bible, editing, making spreadsheets, watching Texans football, watching The Office or Castle, listening to Icon for Hire or other hard rock, and running.
Currently, she lives in a tiny apartment in Houston with her husband who provides unwavering love and support and their two cats, Oreo and Cookie, who constantly steal her hair ties.
