On assignment in the Amazon rainforest, Army veteran and nature photographer David Castin stumbles onto a secret military outfit holding prisoners. Among the hostages is his closest friend, whose supposed death ten years ago spurred an onslaught of guilt and flashbacks. But when Castin attempts to rescue him, things turn south and he finds himself on the run, living out the combat he thought he’d left behind.
His only ally is his assistant, Jemma Walters, who is four hundred miles away in Lima. But she soon finds that people she trusts are either in on the scheme against Castin or will be hurt by those that are. It’s now up to her to expose the plot while Castin hunts down the men leading it.
