A prominent scientist is murdered, and NYPD Homicide Detective Matt Carter lands the case. A few hours later, a simulated electromagnetic pulse hits lower Manhattan, and an anti-technology group takes the credit. Now Carter’s murder case has joined with an FBI investigation, and he and Special Agent Larissa Raine fight to solve both their cases together. After the anti-tech group gives the public eighteen hours to meet their demands, citizens take matters into their own hands.
Fighting two wars now, the anti-tech group and the vigilante group, Carter and Raine race against the clock to save Manhattan from another attack. But not everyone is as they seem. Carter soon finds that some people are forced to take their stand. And he’s not always on the right side of the gun.
