Sunshine Blog Thing

A fun pass-the-blog-post is going around, and I had the extraordinary luck to be tagged… twice. Yay me! So, I shall be answering all 21 of my questions and then tagging my own buddies (muahahaha!) to join in the fun. Thank you Anna Humphrey and L.B. Scott for the tags.

Here are the rules to The Sunshine Blog:
  • Acknowledge the nominating blogger
  • Answer the ten questions from the blogger who nominated you.
  • Nominate up to eleven wonderful bloggers and write ten (possibly fiendish) questions for them to answer.

You are stranded on a desert island. You are allowed one book, one CD, and one movie. What do you take?

Book: The Bible; CD: Icon For Hire’s Scripted; Movie: Phantom of the Opera

Favourite season? Why?

Spring! I love the chill between winter (well, Texas winter, which is most everywhere else’s fall) and summer (which is really death-and-smothering-under-five-hundred-degrees-and-100%-humidity). Plus, I get to go outside and feel the sun while a cool breeze is blowing. Perfection.

Coffee fanatic or tea fiend? With milk/cream and sugar or without?

Well, neither, but if I have to choose, tea. But really hot chocolate with extra marshmallows and some of the powder, dry, drizzled on top of the marshmallows. I like to chew my hot chocolate.

What one place would you visit with that magical plane ticket? Why?

Somewhere in Europe because hubby and I can backpack our way through the rest of Europe and then I get the whole experience! (Yay technicalities!)

Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, or Harry Potter? ::evil laugh::

Um, not even a question. Star Wars. C’mon, guys.

Black Widow or Catwoman? Explain.

Black Widow – mostly because I don’t know much about Catwoman, but Black Widow is bad.ass. and I love her story. Plus, she plays with the boys without flirting like Catwoman does.

Milk chocolate or sinfully dark?

Milk chocolate. Dark tastes far too bitter for me.

Smaug: justified in defending his hoard against thieving dwarves or homicidal maniac?

Both. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Dragons or krakens?

Dragons. I think I like fire more than water, but I’m not 100% on that.

You find a gold ring buried in your backyard. What do you do?

Obviously throw that sucker way away from me. I’ve seen Lord of the Rings. No thank you.

What is your favorite book? (If you have 16, just name the 1st that pops into your head)

I’m going to answer “series” because I don’t have a favorite book. The Jack Reacher series. I love the brute force that Reacher uses on everything.

Did you go to college? What was your major? ( Alternate question: Did you always enjoy writing, or did it come out of left field?)

I majored in Management Information Systems. *crickets chirping* Basically, the business school’s version of Computer Science, except significantly less coding (still coding, just less). I enjoyed it because I love computers and technology (hence why I’m writing a series that has a tech-twist). I have always enjoyed writing, and I minored in Creative Writing in college as well.

What Hogwarts House have you been sorted into?

So… confession time. I’ve never read Harry Potter. *collective gasp* I know, I know. It just wasn’t my thing when it was big, and now I’ve got a million other books to read instead. But hubby says either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw.

What was the first chapter book you read?

Hmm… I honestly don’t know. I think Nancy Drew was pretty early on, but I can’t guarantee that.

What is the silliest nickname you’ve received?

*********. No, it’s not a curse word or dirty, but it’s my mom’s nickname for me, and she and only she gets to call me that. 🙂

Where do you want to escape to?

My books.

Take me on your ideal date.

Well, it’s kind of lumpy but it’s sweet and… oh. Not that kind of date. 🙂 This is going to sound sappy, but my ideal date was the all-day date my hubby and I had when we were first going out. We went to breakfast, coffee with friends, walking at the park, more food, and ending at Barnes & Noble. Also acceptable: Comicpalooza.

What was your favorite game to play as a child? (I will accept a board game, but I will be disappointed.)

Not sure if this is an acceptable use of “game,” but my brother and I used to crush it in Super Mario 64 on the original Nintendo 64.

If you could own any animal and not deal with the consequences (ie: it won’t eat you, it now eats grass), what would you own and why?

Clouded leopard. Hubby and I go to the zoo a lot, and they are the CUTEST little big cats there. I mean, LOOK AT THAT FACE.

Your favorite TV show?

Tie between The Office and Castle. I can always find a relatable quote from The Office, and Pam and Jim were the basis for my dream relationship. And Nathan Fillion is hilarious, and Beckett is also super badass and very smart.

If you could do anything knowing you would not fail, what would you do? Why?

Quit my job and write full-time. That’s the dream.

AND NOW FOR MY TEN QUESTIONS *cackles maniacally*

  1. What is your favorite book/series? (No, you cannot name one you wrote.)
  2. If you were a Jedi, what color would your lightsaber be?
  3. Android or Apple?
  4. If you could be best friends with any Avenger, why do you choose AntMan? 😀
  5. Where do you like to write/read?
  6. Dogs or cats?
  7. Do you prefer rainy days or sunny days?
  8. What is your favorite color on a pair of socks?
  9. How many books do you read in a month?
  10. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being “I love it”, 10 being “I love it so much my heart might explode”), how much do you love cookie dough?

*drum roll* And the lucky few people who will be answering these questions: Wendy GreeneTanna TanChase Gamwell, and Lexi Lefevre!
