Does Telepathy Exist?

In 2014, scientists in Barcelona performed an experiment and were able to successfully transmit one word (“bird”) between two humans–one in India to another person in France, proving once and for all that…

The process is fairly complicated and took about 70 minutes to complete. To start, scientists had to create a binary equivalent for each letter in the word. Then they hooked each person up to an electroencephalography (EEG) sensor, which translated hand movements of the binary code (clenched fist for on, open fist for off) for the computer in India, which sent the binary to its sister computer in France. Once the binary was received, the EEG sensor translated that into a series of flashes in the brain, which then finally translated it into the word.

It’s clearly not the brain-to-brain telepathy we’re used to seeing in fantasy books and movies, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
