Video Game Tournaments with No Humans

Starcraft is one of the few video games that is played at a professional level due to its depth and complexity. Often, it requires 300 actions per minute by the user. In 2010, a tournament was held between 28 Artificial Intelligence bots to see how they competed at an expert level in this highly-strategic game.

Though the bots were impressive against each other, during the competition, they were also pitted against a human professional player and lost every single round. This proved that, though gaming AI bots are making large strides toward advancement, they are still not on a human expert’s level.
